As we walked to the car we passed a firehouse with the doors open. They had both a fire truck and an ambulance so we decided to stop and gander. We learned it's the 2nd oldest firehouse in the city, built in 1902, and the kitchen used to be the stables for the horses :)
The firemen loved showing the boys the trucks, the pole, and sharing cookies with them too! While we were there a call came in. H-man had the honor of ringing the firehouse bell and we watched the ambulance pull out with lights and sirens at full steam. The adventurers were awestruck and grinning from ear to ear. What a fun adventure we had!

What a wonderful surprise to find the fire station right there and open :)
