NYC- What is it About You?

Mr. Bell and I took Little Miss on a little getaway to NYC. We love the city and know it well so it's a relaxing oasis for us.  This trip included her first plane flight. She did great!
We got settled in and immediately booked reservations for dinner at a steakhouse where we would not take the adventurers, but a sleeping baby would make the cut. Then we headed out for dinner and a nice walk in Central Park :)
The next morning we found a delicious breakfast spot and then hit the pavement to explore Brooklyn!  Neither of us had been there before so we wandered across the bridge and walked around. We had found that they have a cemetery that is a Historical Landmark since it was the main one for the whole city for many centuries, so we went and checked it out.
Funny story- the cemetery is HUGE and after an hour of walking we had only crossed the from the bottom left corner of the map to the bottom right. We tried to exit and found out the only gate open at that hour was the front entrance. Since we were tired and weary at this point we did what anyone would do: we ordered an Uber to come find us and take us to the subway just outside the front gate! ;)

That night was the 4th so we met up with a dear friend of ours for dinner and then we found our way to the river to watch the fireworks shoot off the barges. Right when we arrived it started pouring rain! We decided it wasn't worth it and turned around and headed back. Nothing like watching the show on TV ;)

Day 3 began with the main Lady herself.  For all the time Mr. Bell has spent in NYC he had never been to Liberty Island. The adventurers kept asking if we saw the "King of New York" :)
We wandered through the financial district and discovered a scrumptious lunch including gluten-free rolls!  Then it was back to Midtown for dinner with grad school friends and Broadway!
Another fun story: A very dear friend of mine had told me her old acting friend is currently playing Galinda in Wicked. It was also mentioned that she is dating an actor. During intermission we found out the actor is actually an old costar of Mr. Bell's who he worked very closely with and won his Emmy for scenes with this guy!  After the show we waited at the stage door to meet her and tell her of our connection. She was so excited to meet us and grabbed her phone to take a pic with us so she could show her beau. You should've seen the looks from all the other waiting fans. Why would the star of the show want a photo with these people?  Who are they?? ;)
Our last full day was spent wandering from Greenwich Village all the way up to Hudson Yards. We walked the Highline and met another dear friend and old costar for lunch. We ended the day with an amazing blues club with another dear friend who had flown in for business that afternoon.
Seems like a busy trip- but it was relaxing and wonderful!  We headed home refreshed and thankful for a little getaway :)

Until rest time - Mrs. Bell
